See more on baby announcements
Nowadays, it seems that many of the traditions that we hold near and dear to our hearts are in danger of collapsing under the weight of so many technological advancements that purportedly make our lives better. Such "quaint" and "antiquated" customs such as writing letters seem to have fallen by the wayside in our quest to do things faster and easier, and it seems that no one writes baby announcements anymore. Nevertheless, there are quite a few people who are still interested in preserving many of these traditions, and baby announcements remain widely in use as a way to inform friends and family members of the birth of a new child. While there is certainly something to be said about the convenience of relatively recent innovations such as e mail, instant messaging, text messaging, and social networking websites, and their ability to help people connect in numerous and new and more efficient ways, sending out baby announcements is a tradition that is still a viable means of spreading the word about such a momentous occasion. And you do have to admit that sending out your baby announcements via e mail or text messaging is hardly sufficient or appropriate for such a life changing event.
