Brake fluid should be inspected regularly for metal flakes and moisture accumulation. Otherwise, calipers and wheel cylinders will wear down quicker. Experts also caution car owners to not have their brake fluid topped off at every service call. Brake pads cannot properly signal car owners that they (the pads) have worn down if fluid levels are too high. Also, metal to metal brake parts that touch need to be lubricated to create a barrier between those parts.
