Dogs also need a small amount of fats in their food. The recommended level of fats for dogs are 10% to 15%. If you think that your dog is very active then you may give it 20% fats. For the sled dogs, 50% fats are recommended. Animal fats and oils such as canola, olive and vegetable are considered best sources of fats for dogs.
